Good weekend for riding, I went out on Friday and Saturday to Winter Garden to ride the West Orange Trail. Friday, I went out from Winter Garden to Clermont, FL and saw a few of the historic downtowns of these little towns. I also tried the little French place in Winter Garden afterwards. Excellent croissants and eclairs.
On Saturday’s ride I started from Winter Garden and rode out to Apoka. I finally found where downtown Apopka was on the trail. Unfortunately, it’s not quite as scenic as the other direction. Part of the trail was near the sewage center. I’ve ridden this trail a few times and had always gone straight missing the turn for Apopka, which makes a difference in the length. Instead I always wound up at the horse center, which i did on Saturday as well. I took a break there to watch some show jumping that was going on at that time. When I got back to Winter Garden I rode through the downtown. The main road through town had been blocked off, and I wanted to see what was going on. There was this neat car show. All these old vehicles parked up and down the street. There was a model-t and the Hudson Hornet (like from Cars).
